Random thoughts.
I just don’t understand how people fall in love, and then fall out of love. Long relationships and marriages sometimes fall apart. Why? If you lasted that long, how did it possibly fall apart? Did one or both parties just.. lose interest? Did they decide they wanted somebody better?
I can see how short relationships fall apart. You are still learning about each other, and I guess if you don’t love everything about the other person, it’s not going to work out in the long wrong. Fights happen often. Break ups happen. That seems normal, to me.
But long-term relationships? Did you really just not like that person to begin with? How does it take THAT long for someone to realize that they don’t want to be with their boyfriend/girlfriend? Or did things get rough and one member of the duo decided to bail? Was their partner just not good enough for them? Not good enough to fight for, at least?
I just… don’t understand how things like that happen. Especially divorces. You’re supposed to love your spouse and not hurt them. Obviously someone has to do something if a marriage falls apart. It blows my mind. I feel like breakups happen over selfish reasons. Loving someone requires selflessness. When you stop loving someone, your bringing selfishness back. If you know you truly love someone, don’t let yourself get in the way, put your lover first.
It’s just weird. It makes me sad. Seeing people who were once so close just.. leave each other. Maybe, today, people just don’t care to try hard enough. Love is simple, but it’s work. If it gets harder, just remember who you’re working for.
I feel like that maybe only half of that made sense! xD
